our first room was lovely and had recently been decorated with a lovely view. however it had twin beds so we asked to be moved, we were moved to a room on the 1st floor with a view on to the kitchen room and wasnt very nice. i think its the luck of the draw.
on arrival the staff were really welcoming, the resturant was very good staff once again great, bar staff friendly there was a trad night and it was very good also. great location,,
very tired rooms need new and updated furniture also a musty smell, and 310 room very noisey from the new installed lift,,,bath room very grotty not worth 3 star,,
good TV, good food (only had breakfasts), greaat view (harbour)
condensation in the window, cold tap was very stiff to operate, carpet was stained , bed was a bit too small for me.
Lovely top floor room with four poster bed - good breakfast in the morning - good view of the harbour - excellent location for town centre
Could be better signposting into back of hotel from the car park while work being undertaken
Nice location close to the quay, shopping and pubs. Plentiful parking, though it's a bit tricky to find. Breakfast was very good and the people working at Lawlors were professional and friendly. Nice view from our 3rd floor room of the water.
Hotel is showing its age. Carpeting is worn in common areas as well as in our room.
Girl on reception as very good (Renata); bathroom was well built and well kept; fish on breakfast menu was great; price was good
Old, dark, dreary rooms with creaky floors; no fresh fruit at breakfast
Went to Dungarvan searching Family History. The Hotel was perfectly placed for this and the Reception Staff were able to give advice where to go and who to meet. Very comfortable Hotel. Dining was very good in quality and service. Choice of Menu was very good and the Bar also had a wide choice of drinks. The Domestic Staff were efficient and very curtious. The Town of Dungarvan had plenty of Dining places, including 'Pubs' which produced fine meals in the main. From the Library to the Museum everyone was so helpful and polite. Dungarvan is a coastal town and visitirs would have plenty to do and see. It was a great trip and look forward to returning to continue my quest.
The Location of the Hotel is excellent it was so easy to get to everything as it is so central. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and the bedroom had a lovely view of dungarvan overlooking the boats. Overall a very enjoyable stay would definately return.
I was very disappointed with Lawlors hotel the hotel room was very old very bad smell and the lamp shade was broken along with the curtain pole and the bathroom tiles were all coming off the floor. we were really upset with the standard of this hotel. the only thing we were at a wedding in the Park hotel and couldnt get a room there so that's why we booked Lawlors, it was only for 3/4 hours sleep we had there. i wouldnt have stayed there if we were away for a weekend. very good location but very bad standard and was expensive for standard.
Traditional music was provided in the main bar on the evening of my stay. Which proved very popular with the residents on the night. The hotel is very central within Dungarvan which is a great little seaside town with lots of character (and pubs!) in a very scenic county. Plenty of places to eat out are near to the hotel on the quay. Booked a single room and got a spacious twin.
Not really a complaint more an observation - this hotel is obviously popular with coach tours as there were three there on the night I stayed.
I had a lovely view from my room. Staff very friendly. Very central location - would stay again. Prices very reasonable too.
The corridors were very stale and quite smelly. Didnt like that the car park wasn't well signposted and that you had to enter from the car park through the back of the hotel to get to the main reception.
The South East coast of Ireland is breath taking, the town of Dungarvan is the jewel in the crown, surounded by mountains on three sides, with a traditional market square overlooked by an imposing church, there is a deep water harbour, surounded by beautiful buildings( including an 12th century castle) The harbour is populated by local sailing craft to make a picture postcard. There are no less the three magnificent golf courses all at affordable prices, all this combined with a climate similar to devon or cornwall, ( because of the mountains).I choose Lawlors Hotel because it is situated in the centre of town, overlooking the harbour and for that reason alone I would recommend it,of course there was also the food, ( excellent) and the bar and the friendly staff, over all very good value.
My room was a bit crampted and I could hear the couple next door obviously preparing for, and probably going to win a gold medal in the olympics, for the couple who could achieve the most orgasm's over the course of an 8 hour night.
Pleasant staff, central position in heart of thriving market town, ideally situated for transport connections, shopping, sightseeing and seaside
very central to the town .staff were great .very clean and the food was so good would love to stay there again
late bar did not stay open as there were to many people there and the poor man could not cope felt sorry for him but understood all the same .
the food was excellent and the drink was very good
the carpet on the corridors were all stained and the rooms were not very sound proof you could hear people in their rooms
